The Role: Sustainability Research Associate
Location : London
Grade : 8 (for internal purposes)

The Team:
We are currently looking for a Sustainability Research Associate to join S&P Global’s growing, dynamic Sustainability Research department - overseeing the project management and methodology of the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) and the creation of the iconic Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) and other indices such as the S&P 500® ESG index.
The team is responsible for managing our proprietary database, comprising one of the world’s most complete datasets on corporate sustainability. The data stored here is also used by investors, asset managers and in S&P Global’s
various divisions and products.

We are searching for people that are passionate about sustainability and would like to join a project-focused, international team of like-minded people, driven to deliver excellence in managing the worlds’ most known family of sustainability indices and one of the leading corporate sustainability benchmarking methodologies. Our department is project-focused and relies on our proprietary methodology and software to collect and assess corporate sustainability information.

Your main tasks will include:
Responsibility for managing enquiries about our methodology
Industry-specific responsibility in performing quality control on sustainability data and support on overall quality control process
Conducting the Media & Stakeholder Analysis to analyze potential financial and reputational risks at companies
Responsibility for creating feedback reports and benchmarking reports aimed at helping corporates understand sustainability reporting disclosure requirements
Methodology Development: Supporting team in the further development of the CSA Methodology

Your Qualifications:
A completed Master’s degree, ideally with some specialized courses related to corporate responsibility, sustainable development, responsible investing, environmental management, etc.
Experience of working in sustainability in a corporate environment is preferred
Strong analytical skills with an acute attention to detail
Excellent spoken and written English skills

Your Soft Skills:
A strong interest in sustainability and how financial markets can play a key role in promoting sustainable business practices
The ability to work independently and in an organized manner
Goal and team-orientation
Innovative thinking and proactive behavior
